Why Christianity is a Perth based Christian apologetics ministry. It is an incorporated association registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
Aims
- To model a respectful and informed presence for biblical Christianity in the public arena.
- Through truth and love to show why Christ is worth considering.
- To train Christians to articulate and graciously defend the Christian worldview.
Why Christianity produces free digital media: articles, videos, and audio to help educate individuals and society on why Christianity is worth considering—that it is good, beautiful, and true.
We also aim to support churches and Christian schools in Perth with apologetics resources and training through conducting courses, giving talks, and producing written and video resources. Ultimately, the group aims to glorify God and support the spread of the gospel through apologetics.
Apologetics, which is making a case for the Christian faith, is an expression of loving God with one’s mind. It strengthens the faith of believers and helps remove obstacles non-believers might have to accept Christ. As the Bible says in 1 Peter 3:15, “In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect” (ESV).
Our Story
We began in 2007 as a group of friends fresh out of university, who felt there was not much apologetics happening in Perth, and hoping to make a difference for Christ. Some of us have gone on to receive training in the field, and in our spare time, we have attempted in various ways to equip our city to be ready to give an account for the hope there is in Jesus.
In 2024, the fourth Lausanne Congress listed Australia as having the largest decline in evangelicalism in the world. Much work must be done, but we believe in the Lord of the harvest. We have a burden to share the truth, goodness, and beauty of Christianity to the glory of God and the joy of all people.
